Hello marimba lovers!

It has been five years since I have changed this site to the current format, and five years since I wrote the last "Letter from the editor".

I created this site to assist net people in finding out about marimba information.

Marimba.org was started in 1996 and was changed to the current format in 1998. The principal reason for creating such a site was the difficulty in finding relevant information in search engines: when you searched for marimba, you got a lot of information about Marimba Inc., a computer software related company. This annoyed me, and prompted me to obtain the "Marimba.org" domain name and open this site before the "Marimba Inc." related organization took it. Since then, a lot of landscape on the net has changed. For example, we now do not have difficulties in finding Marimba information in the search engine. If you search "marimba" in Google, Marimba.org comes at the top of the list, before Marimba.com. So, it indeed is serving the original purpose.

This kind of site needs a lot of cooperation from its users. I thank those people who send me articles and update concert schedules; please continue to do so. Any people who want to help with this site are welcome. I hope this site proves to be useful for those people interested in the marimba.
